The Lotus Martini

By: Marjie Martini

How do women become more attractive? Does it have to do with age? How about self-confidence? What is it about a woman that makes her so beautiful that men and women are just drawn to her like bees to honey? The Lotus martini is a drink that releases a woman’s hidden power and helps her become the true goddess that she is.

One afternoon, my girlfriend and I, discovered the Lotus martini while we were sitting on our favorite sunny patio. We were having one of those long leisurely liquid lunches, the ones where you never end up going back to work. We had many topics to discuss because she had just returned from a trek across India. As we toasted her safe return, I paused to inspect the incredible colors of this martini. Red on the bottom, blue in the middle and green on the top but the part that made it so unique was the white lychee nut on the bottom. With my first sip I was tantalized by the taste of fresh mint but as I stirred this martini I realized that it was much more complicated. The Lotus martini changed color and became a beautiful purple. I found it interesting that this martini was the same color as the 7th chakra which is represented by the Lotus flower. Someone had put some serious thought into the creation of this martini. I loved it!

The Lotus martini is a unique blend of gin and macerated mint, which gives a fresh and crisp flavor. The layered colors come from the addition of Blue Curacao and Grenadine. Garnished with a lychee nut, this martini is not only outstanding in presentation but also in taste. When a woman consumes this martini it enhances her softness and creates a magnetic energy that people are instantly drawn to. As we sipped our martini in the sunshine, my girlfriend retold her tale of trekking through India. For years, she had wanted to go on a spiritual journey; this had been the trip of a life time. She had seen many things but that did not compare to what she had learned. She had been shocked by the poor sanitation and horrible poverty. However, the countries despair seemed to be offset by the incredible colors of the women’s saris. The food had been a disappointment but she learned to live on chocolate cookies.

“She returned several pounds lighter, and craving a good martini.”

The landscape had been remarkable, mountains, rivers and beaches, they where the most beautiful that she had ever seen. But the real insight came from the people that she had encountered. All the gurus that she had met kept telling her that she displayed too much masculine energy and she needed to learn to embrace her feminine side. This perplexed her at the beginning but the more she learned about the masculine and feminine characteristics and roles they play in relationships, the more she realized that the gurus were correct. She was incredibly masculine. I was stunned when she announced this because to look at this woman she is ultra feminine, the hair, makeup, nails and clothes were all so girlie. However, she was talking about how she was on the inside.

As we ordered another Lotus martini, my girlfriend started to explain what she had learned. We had both been raised post women’s liberation, and had been taught to be strong, independent women. We were both determined and believed that we had to fight for what we wanted. This warrior fighting is what has caused the downfall of our relationships. The universe created man and woman uniquely and they are meant to fit together perfectly. In a relationship there has to be a balance, like the yin(feminine) and yang(masculine). Men are meant to be strong on the outside and soft on the inside. Women are meant to be soft on the outside and strong on the inside. If relationships are suppose to be so simple, how did they become so complicated? Or has it only been since we have started to take on each others traits that the roles of masculine and feminine have been lost, is that why we have now encountered so many issues and failed relationships?

My girlfriend said that she had learned that she can still be independent without being confrontational; she is now being more reflective. She is asking her partner softly for what she needs, instead of demanding what she wants. She is also letting him take the lead in the relationship by letting him make the decisions. Since she has embraced her femininity, her partner’s response has been amazing and their relationship has never been better. Before this development she never let her partner take care of her, now she realizes that she loves being looked after, it is really nice!

Conclusion:

The Lotus is a martini that is enlightening. The freshness of the mint and gin enhance the feminine side of a woman. The lychee nut adds suppleness and helps a woman realize that true happiness comes from allowing oneself to let go of the control, and by letting the man she loves take care of her. This martini is smooth and velvety just like a woman who embraces her femininity and relaxes her masculine traits. To survive in today’s society women have to use their masculine characteristics. However, we have to remember that there can only be one man in a relationship, both partners cannot wear the pants. The Lotus martini is the divine balance of strength and softness; it is just like those perfect relationships: they are always the ones that contain equal yin and yang.
