5 Alive Martini
It is always interesting the unique people that you meet when you are at a party. Well, the party that I attended a few weeks ago was full of entertaining personalities. This gathering was at my friends beautiful beachfront home, the reason for this affair, his annual summertime fireworks party. Let’s just say the fireworks kicked off the party but the sparks kept going all night. It was on this evening that I met Mr. 5 Alive, and his cocktail of choice the 5 Alive martini.
This martini is very simple. What I love about it: is the reason for its creation, which I will get into later. I think that this martini is fantastic because it is the perfect martini for men. Why? Because it is simple and strong! And last time I checked that is the way most women like their men. The 5 Alive martini is a combination of Vodka with a hint of Vermouth and a splash of 5 Alive juice. For those of you unfamiliar with this juice it is the perfect blend of orange, lemon, grapefruit, tangerine and lime juices. It is meant to wake you up in the morning and perk you up through out the day. Well add this to a vodka martini and you will definitely get a perk!
The fireworks party was a legendary event. The setting was incredible, the entire city turned out every summer for musical fireworks that where staged in the bay. My buddy’s house was huge with multiple patios that overlooked the ocean and the fireworks. Invitations to this event were very coveted and people traveled for miles to attend. I was sure that I was invited because of my stellar personality, but I secretly suspected it was because of my martini making
capabilities and the fact that I always travel with really attractive girlfriends. The reason for this conclusion was that my buddy was newly single and so were a few of his friends. I find it interesting that hot single women get invited to parties that are hosted by men, but not so much by married women. Just a coincidence? I don’t think so. Later in the evening the party was in full swing,
“with the fireworks over, the martini consumption had greatly increased and so had the sparks.”
This is when I met Mr. 5 Alive. My girlfriend introduced us, he was an average looking guy, mid to late 40’s, what intrigued me was his personality. After a few witty comments I was captivated listening to this man. This guy was funny and I love men who make me laugh. When I meet new people and they find out that I write about love, life and martinis I get one of two responses. The first being, that they run the other way because they don’t want to tell me anything that might end up in a column,( they assume their lives are so interesting that I would have to write about it). Chicken shits! The second being, that they tell me their entire life story.
e is a great
guy just not the great guy for The other one was married
with a baby and playing Mr. Mom. He was a nice guy but
she felt for his wife who now had two children to look
after. What amazed her about these encounters was that
they had brought up memories from the past; she had been
hurt deeply because both men had cheated on her. Somehow
it did not matter, enough time had past that she only
seemed to remember the good times and the valuable lessons
that she had learned. She was happy that they had both
found great partners and was delighted that she had not
ended up with either of them. This discovery made me think,
is it possible to be friends with an Ex?me!”he is
a great guy just not the great guy for me!”
