The
Road Runner Martini
There are
times in your life when it is all about the adventure.
Opportunities present themselves and it is up to you,
whether or not you want to take the chance and live on
the edge for a little while. With adventure you are never
sure what is going to happen- there are always elements
of risk. This martini is risky as well and it is very
hot: it is a complete adventure.
The Road Runner martini
is a drink that packs a punch. It is a mixture of Pepper
Vodka, Tequila and Dry Vermouth. You are probably saying
"Wow!" You would have to be crazy to drink that!
However, the part of this martini that makes it sizzle
is the addition of the jalapeno stuffed olive. Yum! You
might have to step out your box to try this one, but it
is definably worth the trip. It is a lot like going on
a road trip, it can be hot and sweaty and there is always
the risk factor that you could end up with a broken down
car or a broken heart.
My girlfriends and
I where celebrating the return of our crazy ass friend,
who had just arrive home from a huge road trip. She was
a woman that was always on fire so it seemed quite fitting
to order her the Road Runner martini. We were all listening
intently to her tales of the open road when the martinis
arrived. As she took her first sip she smiled and announced
“Ladies,
this one will light your ass on fire!”
She kept sipping
the Road Runner as her tales continued. She had started
her adventure several months ago with a man that see the
day before she left. He was a friend of friend and they
clicked, so she locked herself in a car with him for 10
days. Was it a disaster? No! They had a total blast, both
of them laughing so hard at times they where sure they
had wet their pants. They had really interesting conversations,
lots of great sex (that happened on day two) and, the
best part, was the happy hour road pops. They where in
Mexico, a country where you are allowed to drink and drive.
However, in Mexico you are not allowed to be drunk and
drive, it is a fine line that you should not cross but
the road pops make for good entertainment value. The boy
was fun but she was over him after a few weeks, so he
flew home. She then did another road trip with some girlfriends,
that trip was an ordeal, they ended up breaking down 3
times and finished their journey in the back of a Mexican
truck drinking warm white wine and smoking cigarettes
to help deal with the stress
During
her time away she had fallen madly in love with a man
that she had known for years, but had just recently reconnected
with. They decided to make her return road trip together.
The quote "traveling with someone will either make
or break a relationship" was tested in this journey.
It started out fantastic and quickly became the trip from
hell! It was shocking, she thought that she really knew
him but was frightened at the dark side of his personality
that was revealed as the miles went on.
