The
Pink Lady Martini
As
always insight comes to me in the latest hour of the evening.
On this special evening I came to the great conclusion
that as much as I would like my girlfriend to get her
shit together, alas she never will. We are all destined
to have at least one friend in our life that never "gets
it". I think it is this person that makes all the
rest of us realize that we have grown up. God help us.
We actually grow up! It is quite ironic that the one,
who never gets it, is the one that everyone thinks has
it all?
The
Pink Lady martini is something that you only drink on
very special occasions! Why? Because too many of this
martini will make you doubt all the normal things in your
life. This is the martini that can make you sit on the
fence permanently, because when you drink this martini,
you never have to make a decision. The Pink Lady is a
mixture of Razberi Stoli Vodka, grapefruit juice and lemon
juice but the special part is the topper of champagne
with pomegranate juice. This drink is very girlie because
it is served with a sugared rim and is a beautiful color
of pink. Unfortunately very few men will be drinking this
martini unless they are gay or very secure in their masculinity.
Why is it that the women who appear to have it all, the
great looks, body and personality are the ones with the
biggest issues? Women that have the perfect boyfriend,
great social life and career are the ones that are the
most miserable. Is it a case of nothing is ever good enough?
Or is it a case of the grass is always greener? In most
cases I believe that these women attract men that are
too accommodating, the ones that very rarely tell her
to get over herself, the ones that everyone else thinks
are soooo great but she does not really respect. These
are the men that give and give but she can not totally
commit to because deep down she does not believe that
she deserves them. Why? Because inside she knows that
she is a bitch. These women are very much like the Pink
Lady martini because they are all sweet and pretty on
the outside but on the inside they possess a bitterness
that consumes them and unless it is mellowed out by a
really sweet guy it is just plain ugly.
We
as women all have at least one friend that is always in
a dilemma, as we grow older we slowly cut these drama
queens out of our lives but we generally keep at least
one or two around. Why?
